How do I get started?
The first step to improving your fitness and getting into the best shape of your life is to book a free consultation with a G-Motion personal trainer. During your first workout, we will go through a fitness assessment with you (and your workout partner, if you choose partner training), and get you all setup to begin your exercise program. Simply email us, and one of our trainers will call to set up your initial consultation.
What do I need to bring?
Towel service is provided, full shower facilities with limited free client parking in front of the building (metre parking is available along 7th ave). Storage cupboards are available to put your belongings during your session.
Please bring your own water bottle in support of the studios eco-friendly water initiative. Please ensure to wear comfortable, supportive clothing and appropriate footwear, and refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to be considerate of your fellow trainees.
What if I can’t make my training session?
If you cannot make your training session, simply notify your trainer within 24 hours, either by phone or in person. If you are unable to provide 24 hours notice, you may reschedule your session within the following 7 days (not including currently booked sessions), subject to your trainer’s schedule. If your are unable to reschedule the session, the full session fee will be charged. For Partner Training, if one partner cancels with less than 24 hours notice, the trainer will keep the session with the remaining client, and the client who cancelled will be charged for their portion. If 24 hours notice is given and your partner keeps their session, they will be charged the standard one-on-one rate.
Is your rate structure complicated, like some other trainers?
One of the benefits of training with G Motion is that we offer simple, convenient rates for personal training regardless of whether you train with us once, twice, or three times per week. Most personal trainers in Vancouver have complicated rate structures that force clients to pay a premium for personal training unless they train several times per week and pre-purchase a large package of sessions up front. With G Motion, you can pay the same standard rate regardless of how often you train with us.
Do you offer discounted rates?
Yes. We offer a prepaid package; 12 session bundle 10% off. Please inquire about this package with your trainer.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Personal Training clients can pay by cheque, VISA or Mastercard. Personal Training session are post-billed at the end of each month, with invoices provided by email unless requested otherwise. Cheques are due within 10 days of invoicing, and credit cards are automatically processed on the day of invoicing.
Where are you located?
Our team trains at The Firm Athletica Studio at 1665 W 7th Ave.
Do you provide parking?
Yes, there is limited free parking for patrons right in front of the building. Metered parking is also available along 7th avenue.
I want results fast – what else can I do?
Show up for your sessions. You want results, commit the time to making it happen.
Keep moving. Walk or bike to work, take the stairs, go for a bike ride, go hiking… whatever additional exercise–no matter how small–will not only help you achieve your goals, but you will establish healthy lifestyle changes that will help you live stronger, longer.
Eat well. As hard as you work with your trainer, if you’re going home to a pint of ice cream (or a beer) every night, you’re working against yourself. Think of food as fuel for your body, not just pure enjoyment and provide your body with the nutrients and energy it needs. And if you don’t know where to start with your nutritional changes, our trainer Shea Sargent is a certified nutritionist and can help set up a plan for you.
I have additional health needs, who do you recommend?
G Motion is proud of the relationships it has established with some of Vancouver’s leading health practitioners. We not only recommend these professionals, we see them ourselves:
Nutritionist: Sarah Cuff, Eat 2 Run
Physiotherapy: Mike Hales, Halestorm Physiotherapy
Massage Therapy: Sarah Arnold, Humanity Wellness
Chiropractor: Dr. Emily Edwards, Be Chiropractic Wellness
